These are all my nail fails, and if you scroll far enough down, you will see my nails when I first had started painting them in the beginning of 2013. And let me tell you...they are not pretty. haha. Let's start with the most recent fails:
I tried to recreate one of @nailartdiary's mani's but epically failed on the skulls! they look like little ghosts! haha. I do, however, kinda like the crosses. I think I could've made them a little smaller so that I could've fit more on the nail. But ultimately, the ghost/skulls ruined it for me. lol.
I tried the adorable Tartar Sauce (Grumpy Cat) for one of my best friends, and obviously...totally failed! haha. I used acrylic paint to try to paint Tartar on my nail, but it was so much harder than I thought it would be! Unfortunately, I can't remember, or find the pictorial I used to create this mani. I used Essie's Topless and Barefoot as the base.
I got this watercolor technique/design from @Sassyfingers (instagram), I didn't follow it exactly though. I liked this mani when I had done it, but looking back at it, I feel like I could've done a better job. Made it look more...blended around the edges. I remember this taking me a really long time! Like...all day!
The only reason this mani is under Nail Fails is, because it didn't even stay on for 24 hours! It was the first time I had ever used any sort of rhinestones, so I don't think I really applied them properly. I also think I could've done a better job. I put top coat over the rhinestones (I had read that it helps them stay better), but it totally changed the look of them. Their shininess was dulled. I also intended on the stripes to be pin stripes, but didn't have the correct brushes, or experience to pull it off. lol.
Here is my MissJenFabulous inspired Big Leopard Print nails with an ombre background. Now that I actually know how to create beautiful leopard/cheetah prints, this just looks like a hot mess! haha, and I could've picked better colors for the ombre bases.
I really loved this pink, and white leopard mani/pedi when I did it! But like my picture above, now that I know how to do leopard prints, I feel like this one could improve(:
Avert your eyes! lol! Just kidding. But seriously...look at those zebra stripes! I have definitely improved from whatever that is! I remember this being sooo difficult! I was so sad! lol.
This was my favorite combo when I first started to paint my nails. Pale pink with chunky glitter! But damn! I really needed to learn how to clean up my cuticles better! lol.
I matched my nails to the shirt I was wearing. Again, I needed to learn how to clean up the edges properly. lol.
If you read my Get To Know Me page, then you may remember me referencing nails that may be on a 6 year old. Well, here they are. I don't have anything against them (a lot of people put glitter on all their nails that aren't 6), but if you know me, then you know that without makeup I look like a little kid. lol. Sad, but true. So having my nubs covered in glitter with no sort of pattern, just made me look even younger. I don't know how many times I got carded after wearing my nails like this! Lesson learned!
I love that you have a page dedicated to nail fails!!! So awesome that you can laugh at your boo-boos! Lol
